Luke 5:1-11

1 Now it happened that while the crowd was pressing around Him and listening to the word of God, He was standing by the lake of Gennesaret;

2 and He saw two boats lying at the edge of the lake; but the fishermen had gotten out of them and were washing their nets.

3 And He got into one of the boats, which was Simon's, and asked him to put out a little way from the land. And He sat down and began teaching the people from the boat.

4 When He had finished speaking, He said to Simon, ``Put out into the deep water and let down your nets for a catch."

5 Simon answered and said, ``Master, we worked hard all night and caught nothing, but I will do as You say and let down the nets."

Lord thank you for revealing yourself to us every day. Notice how Simon Peter immediately recognized that this was a miracle of the Lord. His family had been waiting for generations for God to reveal himself. I can't imagine the pressure he felt when he made the connection of not just a coincidence that they caught the fish but that Jesus had shown himself to them. Lord help me to respond to you the way Peter did. Have me known when it's you who show yourself. Amen.

Ephesians 4:29-32

29 Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear.

30 Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

31 Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice.

32 Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.

Psalm 141:3

Thank you God, for forgiving me time after time again, for not giving up on me and continually guiding me, for constantly making a way when it seems impossible, amen.

Romans 1:28-31

28 And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper,

29 being filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice; they are gossips,

30 slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents,

31 without understanding, untrustworthy, unloving, unmerciful;

God wants our speech to be pleasing to Him. That leaves no room for idle talk or mean-spirited words, which are far from pleasant; we are to “put aside” such talk (Colossians 3:8).

Lord, please help me to keep myself in check, to be careful on what I say or do at times, please remind me to glorify you in all things, amen.

1 John 4:7-10

7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.

8 The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

9 By this the love of God was manifested in us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world so that we might live through Him.

10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

Romans 5:8

Dear Lord, even though I may forget it at time you created me with intention I live to love you because you loved me. No matter what I do I could never lose that love and I am eternally grateful. I want to live my life to show others of the unconditional that I have been shown, amen!
